- Assists in the performance of different in vivo and in vitro studies leading to:
o Safety and efficacy of drug products, product candidates, product raw materials and herbal materials.
o Screening and development of different locally available botanical ingredients with potential as herbal product(s).
o Evaluation of purity and identity of biosimilar and biologics using different Molecular Biology techniques.
- Performs laboratory experiments for drug evaluation and/or product development based on Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and ethical use of laboratory animal model.
- Ensures accurate and complete recording of actual experimental data, performs detailed and accurate statistical analysis of scientific data.
- Participates in evaluation of submitted non-clinical data of candidate biosimilar and biologic product for its qualifications based on PhilFDA, WHO, USFDA and EMA standards.
- Applies different validated in vitro and in vivo laboratory protocols (OECD, WHO, NIH etc.) and develops new methods that will service the different projects of the department.
- Assists /applies different in vivo models
- Prepares reports on experiments conducted within agreed timelines.
- Provides other services necessary and relevant for the efficient and effective operation of the department.
- Graduate of Bachelor's degree in Biology (major in Molecular or Cell Biology), Molecular Biology & Allied Sciences.
- With at least 2 years of applied laboratory experience (in vitro and in vivo)
- A good understanding of molecular, cell biology and animal laboratory techniques. Proficient in techniques involving PCR, protein characterization, ELISA, animal handling, acute oral toxicity, OECD protocols etc.
- Able to perform different laboratory experiments according to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and ethical use of laboratory animal model.
- A good technical background in other related sciences (e.g., Microbiology, Chemistry, Cell Biology, Virology etc.), is an advantage.
- Functions well in an interdisciplinary team.
- With good foundation in using scientific (DNAsis, BLAST etc.) and statistical (GraphPad Prism, SAS etc.) software.
- Ensures complete and accurate documentation of results and experimental calculations.
- Well-versed in several MS Office-based applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc.).
- Able to prepare reports on assigned experiments conducted within agreed timelines.
- Able to present ideas and results clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
