Job Summary The Project QA/QC Head is responsible for implementing the projects quality assurance and quality control programs and ensuring that all operational activities adhere to the projects specifications and company standards. Taking full responsibility for all inspection hold points and closing out of nonconformance reports and Site Observations, the role keeps and maintains all quality records from the projects initial phase until project completion. The role can be assigned to one or two projects with minimal supervision and can oversee, lead, and train new QA/QC Engineers and Architects. General Duties and Responsibilities Efficiently manage and use available resources. Manage daytoday QA/QC activities. Regular coordination with clients team. Manage and keep track of all work inspection activities and coordinate with thirdparty laboratories for material testing requirements. Conduct regular work and material inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards. Conduct orientation and quality toolbox talks to project personnel (project staff, subcontractors, and suppliers). Conduct regular plant visits to ensure production and final product quality are in accordance with the projects quality requirements. Prepare all material submittals, reports, and other deliverables required for review and approval. Coordinate with the Commercial and Procurement Department for any concerns with suppliers and subcontractors. Coordinate with the Planning Department for the submission of inspection and testing schedules. Monitor and follow up with the Technical Support Group (TSG) on required shop drawings for approval. Review approved shop drawings prior to site implementation. Coordinate with TSG for any encountered conflicts in the design for structural and architectural works as per site conditions. Review, approve, and maintain all project quality system records. Monitor site implementation of any revisions based on the approved site instruction of the consultant and management team. As necessary, issue a NonConformance Report (NCR) to all subcontractors with regards to workmanship and quality issues and provide corrective action to prevent recurrence. Conduct weekly meetings with subcontractors inspectors to discuss possible solutions concerning quality control issues and construction schedules. Strictly implement the production of quality outputs. Accurately assess subcontractors quality and ontime performance. Ensure that the project handover is within or ahead of the scheduled date. Coordinate with the Project Manager regarding all quality issues tackled during meetings to promptly address these issues. Enforce company policies, procedures, and monitor compliance with quality and safety standards. Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to QA/QC Engineers and Architects. Prepare weekly and monthly reports. Conduct regular walkthrough inspections with Trade Contractors and Project Management Team to monitor project progress and quality of work. Monitor activities and provide necessary coaching and orientation to personnel of other scopes such as structural, architectural, and MEPFS. Lead the department in complying with required documentation such as ISO. Manage the record keeping of all QA/QC documents, such as Project Quality Plan, inspection requests, and test results. The Project QA/QC Head Has The Authority To Stop work when continuing work may adversely affect quality or cover up a defect. Prevent the use of equipment or materials that may adversely affect quality. Direct the removal or replacement of any nonconforming work, equipment, or material. Suspend work and/or supply of materials as deemed necessary to ensure quality. Qualification and Skills Requirement Educational Attainment Bachelors Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or any related field. Professional license is required. Materials Engineer 1 or 2 certified is a plus. Work Experience Four (4) years and above experience in QA/QC for both architectural and structural works, and other specialized phases of the project. Experience in infrastructure projects is a plus. Technical Competencies Proficient in using MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Comprehensive understanding of quality control standards. Knowledgeable of material testing requirements and procedures.
