THE OPPORTUNITYOur client is a leading packaging manufacturer in Australia, renowned for its commitment to sustainability, innovation, and operational excellence. As part of their continued growth, they are seeking a Philippines-based Direct Procurement Specialist to join their team and support strategic sourcing and category management across key procurement areas.This newly created role will focus on direct spend categories such as packaging, chemicals, masterbatch, finished goods, and metals. Reporting to the Group Procurement Manager, the specialist will work closely with stakeholders across multiple sites to drive cost efficiencies, supplier performance, and procurement strategy execution.The successful candidate will be based in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig. The role follows a hybrid setup of three days in-office and two days remote. Work hours are aligned with Asia-based stakeholders, typically from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM PH time.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead sourcing initiatives and category management projects across assigned direct spend areas.
Conduct supplier analysis, pricing comparisons, and prepare business cases to support decision-making.
Collaborate with stakeholders to implement sourcing strategies and manage supplier relationships.
Negotiate contracts and ensure documentation is maintained in procurement systems (SAP, Coupa).
Track and report on cost savings, price variances, and supplier KPIs.
Support financial forecasting and rebate tracking for assigned categories.
Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with procurement and ERP systems.
Contribute to supplier performance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION

Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, category management, or strategic sourcing.
Strong background in FMCG, manufacturing, or industrial supply chains.
Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis) is essential.
Experience with SAP and Coupa preferred.
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Relevant degree in Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or Commerce.
