About the role To support our strategy and ambition to reach 1 million farmers globally and to proper our digital presence and support to smallholder farmers, EWS-KT is seeking a Digital Communication Specialist. The post holder will focus on supporting EWS Foundation's goals in sharing knowledge on improved fresh vegetable production practices with smallholder farmers digitally. This position will help strengthen the digital presence of the country. The key responsibility of this position is to make the extension materials available to farmers via various digital and non-digital methods and shared advice via social media, website, mobile application, radio and more targeting smallholder farmers in the Philippines. This position will also increase synergy and cooperation with East-West Seed Commercial's digital presence. The overall objective is to increase EWS-KT&aposs digital outreach and engagement with its target audience to improve knowledge of good farming practices among smallholder vegetable farmers. The channels for this include, but are not limited to, social media, messengers, chat bots, websites and other digital platforms. The incumbent would be tasked to plan digital content and events, participating in non-branded online groups and forums while also proactively driving conversations on owned-social media platforms. They would also require to train the EWS-KT staff on the use of social media as a means to increase our outreach online. EWS-KT currently has a strong focus on field-based training but we recognize the opportunity to extend our quality knowledge assets and reach more people through a variety of digital platforms. As the EWS-KT agri-experts develop the technical messages, the candidate will be responsible for modifying the content as required by the platforms or in some cases create new content with the help of the Technical Support Hub. WORK RELATIONSHIPS: The candidate will work with teams in EWS-KT countries. The candidate will coordinate with the Media Extension Manager Will work closely with the Technical Support Group to ensure quality of technical information published and posted. Will work closely with the Technical Field Advisors to get regular information anddata. RESPONSIBILITIES: Understanding the digital presence of the country and creating/maintaining an identity for EWS-KT. Understand the smallholder farmers of the country and identity channels to effectively communicate. Build, maintain and optimise East-West Seed Knowledge Transfer's online and offline presence. Focus on development and execution of integrated communication strategy across all digital channels throughout the marketing funnel to meet organisational targets. Design an effective communication path/flow. Participating in relevant, third party- local farming groups/forums, proactively driving conversations. Train staff in moderating, posting and publishing on social media, radio, magazine and other platforms Prepare budget for the campaigns and moderation of the communication channels Use the right data metrics to understand the changes in communication and optimise it to get better indirect outreach. Explore and work closely with external media agencies such as digital agencies, TV, radio, newspapers, influencers in coordination with Digital media specialists India and Group. Monthly reporting and data analysis on performance, queries and trends and providing actionable feedback for ongoing optimization and further growth of all EWS-KT platforms. Regular auditing and actionable feedback of digital assets (including user journey), skills development, trends and new technologies within the industry. QUALIFICATIONS: With Bachelor&aposs Degree in Communications or Agriculture, Marketing, Business, Media or any other relevant Course Working experience in social media marketing Data-driven mind, able to make a real-time improvement based on measurable results, demonstrable. Good understanding and experience managing social media platforms and chat applications Experience dealing with a digital solutions for smallholder farmers will be a plus Video and photo experience (creation and editing) Fluency in written and spoken English and local language; in addition to presentation and communication skills. Positive attitude, detail and customer oriented with good multitasking and organisational /coordinating ability Must be enthusiastic, innovative, and self-motivated, and demonstrate an understanding of content delivery best practices.
