We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Application Support Specialist with strong SQL expertise and at least 8 years of experience in enterprise application support. This role requires deep technical knowledge and leadership capabilities to manage complex issues, lead operational improvements, and ensure optimal application performance. The position supports business-critical applications within a hybrid, mid-shift working environment. SQLKey Responsibilities Lead the smooth and quality-assured transition of application features from development to production. Provide advanced SQL troubleshooting, database performance tuning, and data integrity assurance. Oversee incident and problem management processes, including root cause analysis and long-term remediation. Mentor junior and mid-level support staff, driving knowledge sharing and best practices. Lead continuous improvement projects to optimize application support and operational workflows. Collaborate closely with development, infrastructure, and business stakeholders to align support with organizational goals. Develop and maintain comprehensive operational documentation, including the Operations Enablement Service Catalogue. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum 8 years of experience in application support or related roles, preferably in technology or financial services sectors. Strong, expert-level experience with SQL and relational databases (SQL Server, PostgresDB) - REQUIRED. Extensive experience with Incident and Problem Management in large-scale enterprise environments. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java and/or Python. Experience with cloud platforms, especially AWS (certifications are a plus). In-depth understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban); certifications advantageous. Proven leadership skills, including mentoring and project leadership.
