- Responsible for distribution sales with direct responsibility for revenue, contribution margin and base cost budgets. Formulate sales strategy; develop sales forecast, budget; direct distributors/customers to achieve sales targets; pursue major prospects and lead in major negotiations and construct appropriate terms of sales to drive sustainable business growth.
- Manage business and long-term relationships with distributors including new business development for new products covering all business units.
- Drive profitable growth with appointed distribution accounts through management of sales and service level expectations, including addressing and resolving customer complaints.
- Actively manage distribution accounts receivables and inventories as per the set target.
- Manage distributors to drive development of new businesses and gain new markets that are aligned with business strategy. This comprises analysis and proposals for best routes to market.
- Develop clear understanding of the cross-industry team business landscape including the identification of market size, market segments, key players in the market segment and their activities.
- Provide technical support and updated product knowledge, and effectively coordinate technical and marketing requirements between customers and the regional headquarters as and when necessary.
- Contribute to product and business development by recommending changes in products, service and selling approaches and processes to meet changing market conditions.
- Contribute to market intelligence by monitoring and analyzing competition and market trends.
- Manage distributors to handle indirect accounts and set ambitious targets to promote BASF products and gain new markets.
- Collaborate with industry teams and business units in the area of price management, allocation, lead time, customer complaints, target setting and distributor improvement actions.
- Ensure distribution contract implementation and review performance based on targets and plans agreed with distributors.
- Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Business Management, Economics or Marketing.
- With at least 5 years of related work experience in in sales and marketing and distributor management in multinational or local chemical company. Experience in selling functional polymers an advantage.
- Possess market knowledge and technical competence on application of care chemical ingredients.
- Knowledgeable of the key principles and applications of sales management, key account management and distribution management.
- Possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- With excellent customer service orientation.
- Possess strong strategic planning and project management skills.
- With excellent skills in relationship building, interpersonal communication and personal presentation.
- Possess high level of energy and able to maintain stable performance under pressure.
- Flexible to travel when business needs and projects require.
- Demonstrate leadership, professionalism, and integrity at work.
- Proactive, can excellently work individually and in teams.
