The goal is to uphold product quality and ensure food safety standards are met.Key responsibilities
- Prepare media for microbiological testing in a timely manner.
- Assist the Microbiologist in conducting microbial analysis.
- Perform equipment inspection and swabbing for line release.
- Conduct Environmental Swabbing as per defined program, covering routine and periodic assessments.
- Collect water samples for microbial analysis.
- Maintain up-to-date records and reports on test results.
- Prepare samples for both internal and external microbial testing.
- Conduct physico-chemical analysis for raw materials, in-process, and finished products.
- Ensure adherence to proper laboratory safety and housekeeping procedures, as well as compliance with laboratory rules and regulations.
- Take responsibility for ensuring work aligns with company food safety and quality policies, and actively support Food safety and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) programs within the plant.
- A bachelor's degree in either Food Technology or Chemical Technology, providing a solid foundation in the principles and practices relevant to the role.
- Minimum of one (1) year laboratory experience, preferably with a microbial background: Applicants should have practical experience of at least one year working in a laboratory setting, ideally with a focus on microbial analysis, demonstrating familiarity with laboratory procedures and techniques.
- Candidate should be comfortable using computer software and applications relevant to their tasks, ensuring efficient data management and analysis.
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities are essential for conveying information clearly and facilitating collaboration within the team.
- A thorough understanding of microbial testing methodologies and procedures is necessary for conducting accurate and reliable analyses.
- Possess strong analytical skills to interpret data, identify patterns, and draw meaningful conclusions from experimental results.
- Competence in conducting physico-chemical testing is required to assess the quality and composition of food or chemical substances accurately.
- The ability to identify issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement solutions in a timely manner is crucial for overcoming challenges encountered during laboratory work.
- Demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a team environment, fostering positive relationships and communicating professionally with colleagues and stakeholders.
