Medical Laboratory Technologist

• Perform tests under the direct supervision of a licensed technologist or Head of Laboratory
• Perform only those tests authorized by the Head of Laboratory and the Chief Medtech.
• Follow the clinical laboratorys procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results.
• Notify a licensed technologist or supervisor whenever test systems are not within the clinical laboratorys defined acceptable levels of performance.
• Participate in proficiency testing samples and ensure that these samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.
• Adhere to the clinical laboratorys quality control policies and document quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance
• performed.
• Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and immediately notify a licensed technologist or
• supervisor.
• Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the clinical laboratorys established performance specifications.
• Follow the directives of Head of Laboratory Chief Medtech while exercising their duties and responsibilities.
• Performs job-related tasks as assigned.
